Pop-Up at Movie in the Park

Create Your Place joined Emery Village BIA for a Movie in the Park on July 19^th, 2019. The Pop-Up was hosted by the City of Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation and Children’s Services Divisions, and focused on building awareness around the development of the new Western North York Community Centre and collecting feedback from local residents in the form of a survey. With over 300 attendees, the Create Your Place team engaged in conversations around community recreation and local programming, answering questions and gathering essential feedback. Over 90 survey responses were collected, clarifying the community’s aspirations, goals and sentiments toward the new development. This critical feedback is important to furthering the design process, and to developing a place that cultivates creativity, health and well-being, inclusivity and accessibility for all ages while improving the quality of life for the community.

We are currently consolidating feedback from all of the community engagement sessions and will be providing a summary report of our findings in Open House #2 (Digital Open House). For more information on what was presented, see the .PDF document attached.
